Back Master of Technological Futures
Master of Technological Futures is a blended learning programme and attendance at the first two block courses is a requirement of the learning and the regulations. It is not possible to complete the programme by distance learning alone (it is not approved for this mode of delivery by NZQA). In exceptional circumstances, where a student is prevented from attending a block course by unforeseen circumstances, it may be possible to provide alternative arrangements, subject to the circumstances and suitable evidence being provided.
Please contact registrar@themindlab.com or ring 0800 MINDLAB as soon as possible. Since the block sessions are a requirement of the course, you will need to apply for special circumstances, supported by suitable evidence, in order to continue your enrolment on the programme. If these are approved, individual arrangements will be made for you to complete the required work. Otherwise you may need to withdraw and re-enrol in a later intake to complete the block.
Because this programme focuses on contemporary research, we are always updating the content to be as relevant as possible. For this reason it is not always possible to outline specific topics for an upcoming intake, however, here are examples of topics we have covered on each course in the past:
Digital Topics
Leadership Topics
Research Topics
Practice Topics
If an unforeseen circumstance impairs the ability of a student from doing well on an assessment (including submitting an assessment on time and/or giving a presentation), students are able to apply for a Special Assessment Circumstance (SAC) with relevant evidence within 5 working day of the assessment item due date. Please contact your programme coordinator below, to request a SAC form.

Our new blended learning delivery model (starting in late September 2019 for the October school holiday) will run in block mode. Students attending the programme will need to be in Auckland for the block sessions but can study online for the remainder or the programme. The face to face sessions will be held at our Headquarters which is located at 99 Khyber Pass Road, Grafton, Auckland 1023 (subject to numbers, alternative locations may be used).
An immersive 32-week programme designed by professionals, for professionals. It will help you identify how digital technologies and societal shifts are transforming business models and changing what ‘value’ means.
Yes, if you're currently in New Zealand on an eligible study visa you can apply to study with us. Some of our programmes are also available to study via online distance learning. Check our International Students page on our sister organisation's website, The Mind Lab, for more details.
