Brad Smith

Digital Manager

Brad is an ideas person - there’s nothing more he loves than ideating and concepting novel approaches to bring a message to people. Show Brad any new technology, app or platform and he’ll be dissecting its function and application uses immediately. He’s been attracted to emerging tech and how to leverage it for marketing purposes throughout his career - a memorable example was being part of the team that launched a world first of 3D full motion video stamps for NZ Post for the 2004 Olympic Games.

This ability to meld the here and now with what’s emerging on the technology landscape aligns perfectly with his view of a future where technology and life converge to shake up and disrupt the status quo.

Brad was brought up to be adaptive and open to change. His upbringing in an American diplomatic family involved a lot of world travel, opening him up to different cultures and environments, from starting out in Madagascar then moving to South America, India, West Africa, France, Greece, United States and French West Indies to finally settle down in Aotearoa New Zealand.

A typical day at Tech Futures Lab for Brad involves the big, the small, and all that lies in between in the marketing space. His wide range of skills are put to good use, working on marketing strategy one minute, then fine-tuning Google Ad words the next. With a long strong background in digital marketing, design and experiential advertising, he has found his sweet spot at Tech Futures Lab as the Marketing Manager.
