Tech Futures Lab scholarships provide selected postgraduate programme candidates with up to 50% off full tuition fees.
We believe education should be accessible to anyone who chooses to put themselves forward to learn. A karahipi (scholarship) can be that one key needed to unlock opportunity for people someone to shine.
We have scholarships for those who identify as Māori or Pacific Island learners. See below for more detail.
If you’re eligible to apply for one of our scholarships, you’ll first need to complete the applicable programme application form and declarations before applying for a scholarship.
You can apply for more than one scholarship (if eligible) however you may only be granted one depending on the terms and conditions outlined for each scholarship type.
Things you need to know
Any scholarships not taken up in one intake are rolled over to the next intake within that calendar year.
If more applications are received for a category in any intake than the number of scholarships available, a panel from Tech Futures Lab will decide who will receive the available scholarships based on the value of any other (non-Tech Futures Lab) scholarships received; evidence of financial hardship/need and the relative strength of the candidate’s application statement regarding alignment of their goals with the Master’s or Postgraduate Certificate programmes. All decisions will be final and are not subject to appeal.
Scholarships are subject to candidates successfully meeting eligibility criteria for the Master’s or Postgraduate Certificates in addition to the specific criteria for the scholarship.
Applicants may apply for more than one scholarship if eligible; however, a combination of scholarships can only be awarded as per the following conditions:
If awarded a Masters of Technological Futures or Postgraduate Certificate in Human Potential for the Digital Economy or Postgraduate Certificate in Connected Environments Māori or Pacific Ako Scholarship, eligible students can also receive a travel scholarship (if based outside of Auckland). The Early Bird Discount cannot be awarded in conjunction with a Māori and Pacific Ako Scholarship.
If applicants receive the Early Bird Discount (applied to Masters, PGC-HPDE or
PGC-CE programmes), eligible students can also receive the Travel Scholarship.
Scholarships cannot be held over if an eligible candidate decides to postpone their study to a later intake. Candidates who postpone their study can re-apply for the scholarship when they decide to start their programme. It is not guaranteed that candidates who re-apply will be successful.
